Quote:
Pindaros was not even born until about a generation after Phalaris’s death and we have no evidence to indicate that he had never seen the brazen bull himself, so his testimony is only rumor. Furthermore, the very first full-length, detailed description of the legend of the brazen bull comes from even later—from the Greek historian Diodoros Sikeliotes (lived c. 90 – c. 30 BC) in his book Universal History. It is therefore highly doubtful that the brazen bull ever existed at all… https://talesoftimesforgotten.com/20...ices-are-fake/

But he said to them, “Not everyone can accept this teaching, but only those to whom it is given. For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let anyone accept this who can.”

Also, I personally don’t see it as healthy to use transitions in gender or sexual preference as some sort of makeshift life transition, at least not solely. I think it’s therapeutic to move, to change one’s friend group, to pursue a new career, life changes like this that take effort to be used as a therapeutic new beginning. Declaring that you are the opposite gender or all of a sudden attracted to something else takes zero effort. I think there is temptation especially among the young and already on the LGBT “spectrum” to use gender fluidity as some sort of attempt at therapeutic life change Also, I think too many people build too much of their self-worth around something that again, is not a skill, trade, or craft, something that takes no effort. I think in the long run despite how much the government will force society to praise it, it will ring hollow when it comes to making someone feel better mentally, and especially at building their self esteem. I sort of see someone using their gender identity or sexuality as an attempt at mental or personal development the same way I see someone using watching tv shows or playing video games. These things take no effort, and you cannot get better at doing them (at least in the video games, not enough to make it a career) Now, depending on the person, sometimes a gender transition can take a lot of effort when we factor fashion, surgeries, and the like. And I’ll give that a bit of a nod towards effort and skill building. But I still am not convinced that these are the adequate substitute for real life changes and personal development that many want them to be, and that becomes a factor in their long term mental health. And society encourages this by showering them with praise, attention, and sometimes money for something that would previously take a lot of effort and skill to garner

But ultimately, this grievance is a minor one. I just got a sense of it listening to compilations of Tik Toks of young people giving monologues about their development into a new sexuality or gender. They seem to be people who appear to be struggling in other areas, and I bet deep down wanting some life change
