Polarising only in the sense that she is in one guild rather than another guild.
When she was an active officer, she was a very hard worker and passionate to move her team forward. Naturally, any such personality will draw the ire of her opposition.

Catherin has taken a back seat for a very long time now, and the fact that she is still being brought up by her opposition is testament to just how furious they were and are.

Not that I ultimately care at all but...

I think the "polarizing" comes from the admitted open auto fire and her voice modding. I don't really think it's because of her try hard attitude.

my point being that opinions were simply guided by a guild tag.

Catherin shared her actions with Nilbog before proceeding with an autofire test.
Taken members were interested in this because there was a belief that autofire was a widespread issue in the raid scene at that time.
Non-Taken members completely disregard this point, and attempt to paint Catherin as a historic and permanent cheater.

Any allegation of voice mod is completely irrelevant to eq, and is only brought up for personal attacks.

Had Catherin been in {any guild} instead of Taken, the for/against arguments would be the same coming from different people.
