1. They have to hire sag actors because if they dont they can't hire them for any other games the company makes. that makes the actors thousands of dollars per hour more. 2. Programmers for games can be paid 200k salaries for doing the same work building AI death machines with palmer lucky, but they chose to make kids happy, should they make no money if they make that choice? 3. Marketing alone costs more money than you can possibly imagine, dwarfing both of these other two. It's not insulting to sell a game for 40$, something that (you should keep for your whole life so you can play it for free when you're 40 years old).

You're right about that, a new game should cost 150$
Burt square didnt copy and paste this game, and that's not how porting to new platforms works either.

I think it should be free and they should just use AI art.

Well that's cool with me!
I feel the same way you do about being ripped off with Netflix, and enad global 7. Here's how some of the cost breaks down. It's crazy how much this stuff costs to mass produce! If a tactics-style port sells something like 200k copies at ~$40 average price, that’s about $8M gross. After the store takes its cut (often ~30%) Platform royalties about 5-10$ for each platform that it's sold on. Physical copies manufactured, shipped, and distributed costs around 10$ per unit. (Switch cartridge chip manufacturing/logistics eats up 20$ per unit for every switch game!) A 200k unit port could only net Square at 2-4 million in revenue. And we haven't even factored in marketing/salaries yet! I hope this helps ease the pain, I'm glad you like such a great game. Sorry that it's so frustrating. IIRC something like 1 in 10 games pays for the other 9 a publisher makes! Thats how much of a loss these companies take.
