I have no raid gear, no planar. All my shit would be droppable.

Comparing my gear to Vaamp and Hectorchrist's at this point would be comical.

It doesn't create a gear gap it creates a skill gap.

As Hijinx pointed out, the scared bitches who can't pvp will be running around in no drop getting dirt napped. The skilled players will benefit from and risk their resist gear.

If anything (no offense to anyone) this is going to be in both party's favor, leaning towards the talented pvp squads.

I'm not casting root anyway because I'm not a scrubby and really am trying to force my play style to be classic for real enjoyment.

Try using zoning mechanics like you might in LoL or DotA2 in your EQ play... consider cast times and positioning. If you think there's no skill, you are bad. Period.

I'm just trying to point out that this game isn't about skill, I guess you disagree. In my opinion it is all about knowledge and preparation. From hearing you talk about the game it sounds like you have a great knowledge of the game. If you want to call that skill so be it.

PVE - knowing spawns, mob abilities, pathing, where to stand
PvP - knowing the zones, knowing class abilities, knowing where to stand, having the right clickies, knowing what items to farm to help your class shine

Skill to me means fast reactions, good instincts, hand eye coordination. This isn't what I think of when I think of RPG, which is the direction they have gone lately and is maybe why most people here hate new MMORPGs.

I think putting a bigger emphasis on item strength widens the gap on who has a chance to kill who. If the resist system is fixed to classic I doubt it will come with item loot so your point about the "skilled players" wearing resist gear doesn't add up.

So let's compare me playing a wizard versus, say, Lamort.

Equal skill?

People fumbling through their bags for consumables (not having them too)? Not knowing when to engage? Starting casting a spell quickly from the right distance? Keeping awareness of everything around you while pvping in a high risk zone?

I agree with you when you say what makes a good player. I just don't think it's skill based. It is time investment and knowledge of PvE/PvP mechanics. If some guy gets nervous and freezes that is one thing. This game can't compare to modern games when it comes to skill needed to be on top. I'm not saying the skill based games are more fun, I like this game, but people pat themselves on the backs here when the outcome of a fight is often decided before the first action is taken. It was decided a week ago when the guy was farming a golem wands, having his shaman buddy brew him potions that make other classes pointless, or gathering resist gear.

You don't need to bring up someone that doesn't know how to click on a potion to cure their poison. I think that is just Lamort's mental capacity.

I didn't mean anything that tough to acquire but I guess as a druid you can roll around with your cure poison/cure disease/dispel/levitate spells up at all times instead of having a couple potions/levi cloak. Not sure the best druid on the server would go that route but whatever works for you.
