Well, before I start on things >I< would like to see, I'll start with what I actually see when an event is announced/started.
#1. Event announced, entire serverwide group disband happens. #2. Everyone starts grouping up with guildies/friends, or is stuck alone, and confused. #3. Event begins, people in guild groups get an honest shot at winning the event, however, whichever guild has the most #s on at the time gets a huge advantage #4. Anyone not with a guild gets picked off by mobs, or gets lost and nobody is willing to help them. #5 Event over, a handful of the server get something to gate home with Now, I'm going to address these 1 at a time. #1+2 Events with a set amount of people/event would be nice, although i don't know how feasible it would be, i don't expect it to be every man for himself, but balance is nice to have. People tend to group with their friends/guild in an effort to get overwhelming numbers, which always(usually) win. Setting up team slots would alleviate this. #3. Now, I love guilds, its a group of similar people with similar interests, however, when the event consists of 50% Guild A 30% guild B 20% other, the chances of guild B or Other winning anything is slim to none. #4. Have slightly more clear instructions for events, this isn't always a problem, but be sure people know what to do, or have a direction to go. #5. Consolation prizes. I don't mean giving away 200 oogly sticks per event, but a little something, something temporary, or limited usage. I can't tell you the amount of times I have seen guildmates or friends who outright say they AREN'T going to participate in the event simply because they feel they are going to spend the next 1-2 hours participating, only to to be rewarded with the frustrations of the abovementioned problems. These are just some issues I've seen on live and p99, no personal assaults these are GENERAL issues with events, nothing against the p99 staff or anything like that. | ||
