rofl i have earbuds in probably 75% of my riding time. If you're depending on hearing to ride your bike you are doing it wrong.
Dirt you have more common sense than this kid that ran into me then. :P I was just pissed at him for denting the fuck out of the side of my car.

Oh and when he rode off clutching his ribs, I asked if he was okay, to which he relpied "I'll walk it off." Pretty damn funny.

A law was recently passed in New Mexico (Or maybe just Albuquerque?) saying that cyclists have to follow the same laws vehicles do. State regulated stops, dedicated lanes, etc. I have known people to actually get ticketed for running a red light on a bike in an empty intersection.

i really dont mind this since it legitimizes bike travel and the cyclist's right as a vehicle to be on the road. A lot of Americans just don't think you should even be on a bike, even when you're doing something harmless like riding down the shoulder of a highway with only thru-traffic. Either it costs $300/mo to have and maintain or it's a kid's toy.

Riding on sidewalks blows (usually because quality/size), so I usually ride in the street. Albuquerque, blessedly, is very bicycle friendly in that the majority of the areas I bike in have dedicated bike lanes. It kind of rulez.

it is federal law that you are allowed to ride on the road. You can ride legally anywhere in the US. Sidewalks are much more dangerous in general. Don't cave in to rednecks in F150s when safety is an issue!
