Ugly characters?

Just starting out in Everquest again and I have to say that it's really hard to get re-adjusted to the old style character models. I guess I'm kinda vain at heart, but I feel that it's important to be proud of your character's look, especially if you're going to be dedicated to it for a long period of time.

First I thought maybe a big, ogre warrior would be a cool idea... then I found out that even at end game decked out with full plate armor they still just look like babies in pajamas. Trolls aren't much better, and they run like they're trying to hold in a loaf between their butt cheeks while dashing to the toilet.

Human females have all the charisma of a woman made of legos, and female high elves look like someone forgot to draw in most of their face, etc.


So I guess my question is... what types of character(s) do YOU think look good in Everquest? Any particular favorites? Any that you absolutely hate?

1) I like the old-style ogres and trolls
2) You're vain, really?
3) Human females haven't really ever bothered me
4) High elf females/males do look kind of young(ish) pasty

But anyway, I guess I'm saying that I hate most of the luclin models. They're over-muscled. Boobs on the humans are warped. The half elves have to be the worst conversion ever in the history of gaming. The male Vah Shir looks like a women and has boobs. And many of them run like they got something rammed up their butt deep - easy to notice with half elf and wood elf. There're a few of the luclin models that I like, though. The lizard is ok. The barbarian looks kind of WoW-esque, but is ok. Generally, the luclin models look less human to me and too serious.

I mean, really, can you find ANYTHING in the luclin models that's as far out as the old model for the gnome? NOTHING in luclin truly looks old. The 'old' faces are just young faces with white hair. Luclin is unable to make fun of itself.

An old eq model can walk into hte bar looking like crap and say "I'm beautiful." Luclin is no where to be found.

But anyway, ya, they're old. Low polygon count. Gfx suck. But they got soul.
