i always thought of food stamps as something homeless people use. unfortunately i find out all of my loser stoner friends are basically the only people i know that use food stamps. which fucking pisses me off

All too often someone is exploiting these programs. I've known people IRL that have done it and it's a disgrace to the people that actually need it. No, you shouldn't be able to buy soda or candy or junk food with food stamps. Why? Because it is supposed to be supporting you until you find a job, not to promote you being a lazy parasite on society.

No homeless people wouldn't stand in line for 1 hour fill out paperwork etc. They are homeless for a reason. If they wanted to stop they would. The majority on foodstamps are not homeless.

i would never give someone that has a car, the internet, a phone, and a college education AND a job, any money to buy their own food. you should already have that figured out imo

Explain to me why I am more undeserving of foodstamps than someone who is NOT trying to build themselves a future? I don't own a car, but the fact that I am going to school and am also holding a job means I shouldn't get extra assistance if I need it? I don't understand that logic. I'm doing more with my life than a lot of the other people I have seen at the State's Human Resources Department, why should I deserve less?
