Lol yes. But interestingly enough, for the first time in my life, I had a teenage girl client describe having an AI boyfriend recently. She was self-conscious enough to not label it directly as that, she called it her “assistant”. But it was definitely male and designed in a way to be appealing to her

I felt really bad because this girl was actually very pretty for her age, and that was a factor as to why she was being bullied by her peers (girls especially tend to really hate on pretty girls, and I am not sexist, this is a thing a lot of girls will reluctantly confirm). AND to make matters worse she had neglectful parents. So she smelled like B.O. and was wearing dirty clothes

And I’m smelling her talking about not being able to date her “crush” and describing her AI assistant and I’m thinking “girl, you are 13, you absolutely can’t be the smelly kid and have any chance in hell at dating”. But I said nothing. I did submit a report to child protective services about her constant tardiness due to her parents, her poor hygiene, and unwashed clothes. Food, clothes, shelter, hygiene. It’s not a lot, but that’s the shit parents are legally responsible for their kid

both societies were hit pretty hard by economic troubles and other factors over the last 30-40 years

and the "system" itself is so fucking complex with everything doing a butterfly effect and rippling into and effecting something else, it's hard to pick a singular cause and effect factor and draw conclusions about it

power dynamic shift with women having like a 500% increase in college degrees and well paying jobs, while simultaneously everyone is under a mountain of debt and its never been easier to isolate and ignore the world..etc..etc

japan does seem to be a little ahead of the curve of all this compared to us and it's getting weirder over there by the day

i'm pretty sure like 80%+ of people are making the opposite sex choice for ai assistants, and assistant is the branding on it now in the business world, if you turn on CNBC or Bloomberg 4 out of 5 commercials are about Ai Assistants, some are hilarious usually involving people falling alseep/day dreaming during a meeting and the assistant saving their job by telling them what to say

the only thing new about this from a teen girl prospective is its a chatbot, is it really that different from a parasocial "i'm dating a member of the backstreet boys" weird phase they go through? and like 90% of women are into fantasy smut novels anyway so worse case it's that but interactive now lol

Lol I always take a mantra of you should never insist on a girl being in better shape than you. Due to men and women’s different (men are more into it) views on working out, I only consider that one direction. Meaning to me, it is completely fine for a girl to insist on a guy being in better shape than her, but not the reverse of this

But because I am in good shape with a 34 clothes waistline for men, I also would like a girl I date to be comparable….

….However, I think these people like in that vid I linked who go on the internet and rage about their rejections are just dumb. Or insane, if we are going with the non-accurate old school quote “insanity is continuing to do the same thing and expect a different result”

My experience in getting in good shape and then getting back into dating a few years ago (after like a 6ish year hiatus) was that initially I was doing what that girl in the vid was doing. And what the narrator is probably doing. Which was going for people significantly more attractive than me. Now I wouldn’t always get rejected on the app. Sometimes I could set up a first date by being as witty as I could. And then I’d get ghosted after the first date

The first few hit like a punch to the balls. I think I almost got choked up after my second or third rejection. Then after like 8 or so more they still hurt but not nearly as much, eventually hardly at all. Nowadays after a few successful (albeit short, less than a full year) relationships, rejections don’t affect me at all, confidence wise. They literally have zero effect now

But when I was starting out, I realized I needed to adjust and lower my standards a little. Then I lowered them again. I actually went out on a few dates with girls where I had zero attraction to their picture. I didn’t think it was ugly or anything. Just not “attractive”. Just plain old neutral. But there were times on the date where the girl would say something I liked and smile a certain way and I’d think “ooh ok, I feel some attraction now”. It didn’t end up working out (I believe they happened to ghost me interestingly enough). But it did open my eyes to the idea that pictures cannot convey a person. And a person can “become” attractive in how they carry themselves or act

I guess the male version is easier for me to describe. There are some guys who really objectively are not that great looking. But they have a certain style or way they talk or carry themselves that oozes confidence and charisma. Well, there’s a girl version of that too. But people won’t realize it unless they go for girls that they may not have been all that attracted to some still-frame picture

Last post before I go on a run, and while I’m sure there are many different actress examples of this “not hot until you get to know them”, one for me was always Fairuza Balk (pic below, and yes I had to look up her name)

To me (and keep in mind my standards are still high because I base them off girls I think I could get), I’ve never really thought this girl was objectively good looking. But once I saw her play the evil goth girl villain in The Craft movie as a kid, I was in love

Now, if I would have seen her pic on a dating site, to me, maybe 6/10. But then if she happened to show up on the date looking and acting like that evil goth girl? I would have been half-mast the entire date. And I don’t even really have a thing for goth girls. She just did it so well

So this is an example of a plain girl who becomes hot in how she acts

Totally get what you mean! Some people just have that energy, that vibe, that completely transforms how attractive they seem. Fairuza Balk in The Craft?
