And yes, this is where that little Swedish "The Scowling Brownie" Greta Thunberg is lots of fun.

Perhaps The Angry Brownie is angry about the truth. But unless the species has gone batty, we'll develop technological and political solutions that will more or less weather the coming decades. Yes, it sucks to live in a river delta country like Bangladesh, it always has sucked to live in a river delta country like Bangladesh.

As we explore other planets around other stars, we shall discover life always sucks in river delta countries like Bangladesh. Fuckin A.

My point is, Greta better stop and get a more adult take when she gets past her early 20's or she's just creepy. "The Ancient Angry Brownie." Rare spawn, drops a wooden club. Use it to hit things, ancient angry brownie sez. Quest item. No trade.

I got you. And I'm with you. Hope you don't mind I condensed it. People can click up.

I do not even go to any forums or reddits that are almost completely dominated by people doing the neo-puritan shuffle. If there is anti-fun, I think I've seen it. I worked in a profession dominated by it. So. enough said about that.

The reaction to this has been straight out of American History X opportunism theory. That's been in the gaming world a lot. Maybe its fading.

Meanwhile, I love the fact that every night when I go to sleep, the 7th fleet is just waking up.... Maybe the common thread is, people who think the world is ending are simply wrong. Things are relatively superb, because that's post-war order 101. Which is still in session. As for justice? Justice is always slow, and I study history. The US is part of a wide range of countries making very excellent decisions for the good, for a while now, if you grant some chill in your timescale.

USA experienced the height of its economic prosperity immediately following the Nuking of Japan.

Make of that what you will.

it had alot more to do with the fact that after WW2 the USA owned the largest and most powerful navy that ever sailed the high seas, and used that navy to patrol shipping lanes to prevent piracy and other bad actors which enabled the global scales of economic trade and prosperity that built the modern world

once things settled down a bit, every nation that mattered built a navy which could guarantee their trade security and the US took a lesser role toward the 60's/70s

nuking japan again? I dunno they really seem like they enjoy being allies and a top economic power, and the rate at which they are rebuilding their military is gonna take alot off of our hands when China moves on Taiwan.

I feel like hitting iran's entire military with tactical warheads, we dont need huge population casualties to kill off their ruling elite. and then the entire middle east will STFU for awhile again.

gonna need to do something soon here or shits gonna get real, US military barely has a skeleton crew in the region and without our influence all those crazy muslims are gonna march on each other because they don't believe in Allah the right way.

they only got like 50 years of light crude left so it won't be much of a big deal if we lose those fields for awhile, wells will even refill slightly if we stop pumping them for a few decades.

Google, tell me about tax rates post ww2.

"Following World War II tax increases, top marginal individual tax rates stayed near or above 90%, and the effective tax rate at 70% for the highest incomes (few paid the top rate), until 1964 when the top marginal tax rate was lowered to 70%"

Google, tell me about tax rates now.

"The federal income tax rates remain unchanged for the 2022 and 2023 tax years are 10%, 12%, 22%, 24%, 32%, 35% and 37%. The income thresholds for each bracket, though, are adjusted slightly every year for inflation."

Google, tell me about billionaires not paying taxes.

"They did it in part by avoiding selling off their vast holdings of stock. The U.S. system taxes income. Selling stock generates income, so they avoid income as the system defines it. Meanwhile, billionaires can tap into their wealth by borrowing against it."

Funny how many times you rights can look like you're about to run straight into facts and yet turn away at the last second every time.

Like a cat landing on its feet.
