Unfortunately even if OP apps to kingdom or any raid guild and gets accepted, he'll quickly realize that he's still gonna be passed over within his own guild unless he poopsocks and clique's up. Seemingly every guild on green now has the same pitch: "Join us cause it's totally laid back but also raid friendly" blah blah. We all know the people who are on discord and in game 24\7 are treated differently than the warm bodies.

That being said, I think it *should* be that way. This game is hard, and it's why I like it. Achievements feel meaningful if they are hard to achieve, regardless of what is making them hard to achieve. There are other games you can play if you want "contested" stuff more easily, although I'd argue it's no longer really contested if it's easy to get.
Yea this has been my experience 100%

I joined Castle easily. No issues, just agreed to the rules which I honestly can’t even remember anymore, but luckily still haven’t broken

Almost a year ago I tagged along to a few raids that I heard about in guildchat. But lately everything is pretty organized. There’s I believe a sign up sheet on discord, raid times are announced, etc. Doesn’t come close to the well-oiled machine that classic WoW (the 2020 version) raiding was for me, but still pretty dang organized

Discord and sign ups are too much trouble for me. I log in whenever I feel like it, and don’t like feeling compelled to log on at some pre-arranged time. I got enough of that shit in classic WoW when my co-worker who played (I joined his guild) and I were having to duck out of work early to not be replaced in the WoW raid sign up discord due to a 10 minute tardiness cutoff

So because it’s all too much effort for me, that means no raids. This isn’t a complaint though. I’m fine with it like you are. It’s how it should be, organized is better than scattered

But you better be ready to commit

Yup you did, and I applied. They wouldn't take me though. Granted I was only level 9, but also an untwinked level 9 (so it was going to take me a while to get to 15). Explained as such in the app, but they didn't care. It just led to me believing that they're a guild that wouldn't really care about me as a person, only a level number.

Figured if I was just going to be lonely anyway, it might as well be on green where I have a box of abu-kar.
They’re the largest guild on the server and they’d like to make sure it’s someone who has put a minimal amount of time in before they have an officer travel to invite you just to have you like quit the server a couple days later. It’s a pretty reasonable ask and has nothing to do with whether a guild is friendly or not.

Totally understand your overall feelings in this post, but you gotta be willing to meet halfway sometimes

Okay, so thats your ideal situation. Tell us more! As a porter would you be on your wizard or a druid? Would any other non porting class be acceptable? What level is everyone on that situation? Would you have played with the group of people before or in your ideal situation would they be strangers?

Lets understand your ideal eq day in great detail so we can work together and try help move towards that goal.

On the other side of the coin you could just ask the group if they need one more while you’re porting them

I pointed you toward a good guild on blue in kittens so if you ever decide to switch again and are willing to level to level 15 (I think that’s the minimum level for a new member) they are always a great option for a solid community that does multiple events during the week for high level chars
Great solution focused suggestion!

OP, I dunno if you'd be able to solo JBoots at 35 anyway. The AC mob you need to kill is level 41.

I'm not competitive at all. And I just soloed JBoots for my 52 Monk very easily. There was one person ahead of me and he left within 10 minutes of me arriving and then the AC popped 20 minutes later.

Granted, I was lucky. Usually it's a few hours to camp.

But still.

Are most casual players screwed out of a Mage epic? Probably. It's still achievable (if you're a mad man) but it's still achievable.

You get what you put in.

If you put in work, you get rewarded.

This isn't WoW where you can get top teir raid gear by queuing up for LFR.

You don't have to poopsock a spawn for 24 hours straight to get decent gear. But if you want every BiS item for your character, you gotta be a nerd in every sense of the word.

You can't take showers.

You can't eat healthy.

You absolutely can't touch women.

Because pixels are on the line.

You don't need BiS gear for solid improvement on your gear. Plenty of mid tier raid items are affordable for casual players, and are still better than anything you are going to get outside of raiding.

My Shaman mostly has mid tier raid gear, and it's still a lot better overall than the alternative non-raid gear.

The South Ro (and other rumoured versions [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]) are a fair bit lower.

The camp is also more of a pain in the ass. In my opinion.

If you're trying to get yourself JBoots, the OOT camp is the best option.

The one in SRO is 9 levels lower than the one in OOT.

Just buy SoW pots for those levels and save yourself the headache.
