Yes,and they fired 60 people that didn't comply. I agree with the policy, the only problem is that there is no one to fill the positions.
My wife works in a hospital system, they have multiple postings for full time nursing, no applicants at all.

Strange. I worked as an engineer at a hospital for a while, and know quite a few folks in the biz, all over the world. All of them were vaccinated voluntarily before any such mandates were instated. Getting fired and being unhireable because they have perfectly reasonable questions about the vaccine poses a much greater risk to them.

The vaccine, which has only existed for about 9 months, could pose a risk to them. We can't know the long-term side effects of a brand new medical treatment until it has existed in the long-term (let's say ten years). If the disease itself has a very low risk of death, why are we doing this?

Many medical professionals are saying this, btw. But then they get banned.
