The Nazi Party, too, was a fringe group before rising to power at the hands of a leader who was nationalistic, jingoistic, denigrated immigrants and other races, attacked the free press, attacked the judiciary, and trumpeted aggressive law enforcement. I think it's perfectly reasonable to want to curb stomp these groups out of existence. Our president, in failing to eloquently and concisely denounce white supremacy during the live debate, unwittingly boosted the national profile of a white supremacist group.

When your entire political identity is "I'm on the good guy team", you inevitably run into a supply and demand dilemma when things improve. Ergo, trump, who is just a rich brat, is now basically the next hitler.

Ironically, the people who fancy themselves the harbingers of peace, need peace not to occur, otherwise they make themselves obsolete. So just stretch those definitions out as much as you need to, now *everyone's* a white supremacist!

Do I believe that Trump was asked to denounce white supremacy and then fumbled and minced words to such a degree that a white supremacist group thought he was supporting them? Yes. I'm not suggesting that he intended to do this, hence why I said "unwittingly." That's exactly the problem though. Instead of clearly and concisely answering the question, he flubbed it and came off as supporting them.

He didn't say this during the debate, which is specifically what I'm referencing. I completely believe that he meant to do denounce them, but he was so defensive about the question that he failed to.

You are correct and I understood that. I only used your quote to show that I think you were correct and he finally did come out and explicitly say it. "Let's hear your new narrative, boys. Twist it up." was not directed at you.
