You know we have mexicans in internment camps, thousands are currently being harassed and intimidated, and we are currently watching a leader actively try to deny people of basic political freedoms like voting and freedom of speech, right?

Our social ills are no where near as bad as china’s. Not worth bringing that up, precisely because people here are aware of these things and will probably Change our leadership at the ballot box in a few months. China doesn’t have that option, and honestly, the problems of the United States don’t really compare. I think the only real analogy is our black prison population, probably our greatest social ill, and that happened largely because of the congressional black caucus in the 90’s insisting on mandatory minimums

Capitalism, socialism, communism, fascism... they're all great or horrible purely depending on the culture to which they are applied. There's nothing wrong with capitalism when it is underlied by strong civic and cultural values... which is why Chinese "capitalism" is such a hellscape, American capitalism is better, and Euro capitalism is better still. Of course all these examples are actually mixed markets.

The only thing that makes American capitalism tolerable are the "socialist" elements that coexist with it... Christian virtue, protestant ethic, private sector unions, social safety nets. Were it not for early 1900's socialists all you fucking peasants would have 0 days vacation and 70 hour work weeks. Unfortunately it seems as a people we've forgotten the horrors of early industrialization and we are sliding back into a gilded age. Too bad

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/n...navirus-deaths

The quotes from the CDC are important here. There's a motive more than only this, the obvious political goal to hurt the whole country because one side is ass hurt they got exposed/lost.

I wasn't real curious about how they were classifying deaths until my uncle's mother-in-law that had been battling dementia for many years and was 90+ years old died. She never had symptoms of COVID, but she tested positive for the antibodies after her death so they told him they reported her death as a COVID death per the state guidelines and that's why they called to tell him out of the blue. He didn't even know she was being tested because it was initially ruled as natural causes. I started looking into how all these different counties, states, and countries categorized whether someone died from COVID or not and discovered how big of a joke the system is as there is no agreed upon standard as to how to classify and report it.
bingo - see above for why ($) but there's the politics of it too.

So it all comes back to Democrats losing and Russiagate. Like what the TV told me on all of its channels, from Fox to MSNBC. You've sure got a lot of insight. -j

Camps built during Obama era? People who shouldn't be here? Harassed and intimidated how? We're losing billions of dollars to scum who don't respect our laws.

How are voting and freedom of speech being threatened again?
