Also note, everything the military "gives" you, you actually pay for. Housing, dental, health. You pay for all shit, which is why spending 7 months in a combat zone only nets you about 12,000 dollars.

PS- My lil brother is a active Marine and the amount of cash he has saved CAUSE of being in the military is amazing, he's pointed out to me several times that most of his buddies in the corp burn there money on leave and/or going to bars every chance they get.........this now now now, me me me attitude is whats killing our nation, instead of throwing shit on the fire, come up with something that fixes the situation......

Lol, sorry but I don't think anyone has the remedy for this nation. I already described this sense of "entitlement" , which you describe as "me me me" etc. Its engrained in the younger generations and is only getting more prevalent. I don't see your confusion with the school thing. I'm pretty sure most people know how the G.I. Bill works. You risk your life, you go to college.

Well, her name is on the house. If anything went wrong, I would just move out into an apartment, and we would split the belongings as we already have planned. We buy things off/on. I buy a tv, she buys a couch, etc. This way if anything happens, the breakup would be painless. She would have a hell of a time paying full rent, but she makes really good money, so she could manage that.

After we are married, we plan to use my VA Loan for our upgraded house. This will happen when I'm done with school and well into my career. Then the new house will be in my name, so I can get the reduced interest rate, and I will make her my stay at home housewife.

Really not that hard. In one year we made enough to almost buy the house outright. Of course we didn't put that much into it, but ... in any situation we could afford this home. We could have went bigger, but that would have been a mistake. Don't bite off more than you can chew.

We are both really good planners.

Plus, she's a young doctor....
