I held the same snarky view regarding the bonus though, thinking slow xp embodied the essence of Classic gameplay. After giving Red a to though I realized gameplay was far more important to me than XP per kill and actually kind of appreciated the ability to get more done with less ^^

If red got rid of the double xp and the global /ooc people would take it seriously. As it is now you're constantly spammed with juvenile jackassery and you have to use /shout as an alternative to /ooc. Also this trolls and iksar grouping with elves shit is stupid on a pvp server.

I'm just pointing out the main reasons why people on blue consider red to be p99's version of Tiajuana. I'm not at all amazed that players don't put up with things that they don't have to.

I honestly think the xp bonus really balances out "falure" though, which is great for a server where your xping can come to a screetching halt when 1 guy busts in kicking your group mates in the face while you're tryign to level.
A lot of people dont have the will to keep at it when this game is crushingly cruel to you, I mean deep down its why we all love classic eq, but deep down we also get frustrated when we're trying to just play our favorite game while our So's sleep or watch sex in the city. Red can be far more crushingly difficult than blue can be. I love classic EQ and everything that the game has to offer, but as someone who has spent a lot of time playing this game I think the xp rate on red99 is what eq should have been. Its by no means exploitive (it still takes a day of grinding to get through a level come 46+) and its equally less painful than 46+ is in classic/blue.

It's not a snarky view, you were correct. The exp bonus is just another difference from classic eq that makes red more different from classic eq, not less different.
But none if this matters, red is different than blue. People who like red like it because it's different from blue. People who don't like red don't like it because it's different from blue. The reality is, if red want's more players to come over from blue then red needs to change to be more like blue. And that's not going to happen because red players don't want red to be more like blue. So instead they tell blue players something ridiculous that basically amounts to "you should learn to like things that you don't like". Most players on blue have toons on red, so it's not a matter of blue players not knowing what they are missing.

and lets not mix up singnals the entire point of OP was to point out that, making fun of red numbers is a stupid reason to say blue is 'better' because whats going on on blue, is dumb.. and by all accounts players agree, by posting rants and flames about eachother steeling camps monopolising zones, arguing over raid mob rights. So in the reguard of playerbase, the red #'s are actually better. So no more, red is a dead server bs plz Its not just alive, its healthy as fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuk Blue: [You must be logged in to view images.
