Tryed the server out for a couple months. Got sucked into leveling up as per usual in Everquest after about a year and a half hiatus. Leveling up was not bad, experience bonus is very nice. Perhaps I came here at a bad time, but In my opinion, the current state of red99 does not promote any kind of challenge to the one guild server.

When one guild (Empire) is so intent on not having any pvp competition that they will resort to such tactics (but not limited to) in order to quash it.

1) nonstop grief of leveling groups
2) nonstop trolling forums with rumors of guilds demise (before any demise happens)
3) mass pvp in response to any type of raid
4) complete disregard to rules of the server (LNS specifically, with no GM enforcement)
5) nonstop recruitment of any player that wants to join a guild (this one is just pathetic, I've never seen such hypocritical behavior by people who "want competition", Empire is an embarrassment of self loathing, self advertising, non stop guild recruitment thread bumping in order to stay relevant, sociopaths )

For the last week I've taken a self administered break in order to move houses IRL. After much consideration I've decided to pass on what this server has to offer. Can't say that I will miss it, but at least in gave the server a chance.

Ironically the people they told you not to recruit they have actively tried to headhunt, they would accept hashtag or vapo in a heartbeat.

<tmo> just had no idea what 2 expect. Did you honestly think rocking up to a server and state that in 2 months you'd be the top dogs was gunna work?

The good thing is that a handful of you will stay on, the rest will go back 2 blue to poopsock zones for 12-16hrs.

(Remember the days <tmo> would log out full buffed alt accounts at VS room so that no other guild had a chance?) --- Karma's a bitch.

Naw I just expected this server to be like my experience on live. Tons of pvp with tons of factions. Not just one super guild everyone flocks to as soon as they join the server. The saddest thing is the only guild in recent terms to try to compete was a group from blue lol.

If you are happy with the way things are then good for you. I am happy too. Everyone is winning it seems.

I wish you guys could have been here for early classic when there was dozens of guilds on the server. From Uprising to Los Banditos (FF), to Holo, to Blood Money ect. Even with less pop it felt more like a thriving PvP server than it is today. I think that is why a lot of you have a warped vision of what is going on. Most of you have never been on the opposition and you def weren't here for classic.

Nobody wants to join <friends> or <azrael> because they are led by uncharismatic elitist douchebags that cant extend their clique to more than 20 people. Get the fuck over yourself, recruit, contest, or gtfo.
