Because you player a healing class, and because you belong to a fairly large guild.

You doing it wrong.
Nope that's not true. Like many others here, I agree that getting into a decent group on this server is a lot more difficult than it should be... probably because there are so many people playing solo classes. Just take a look at that poll regarding "Who is your main and alt" and you will see what I mean. Look at how many people are playing necromancers, for example. It's a disproportionately high number, given the general breakdown of the rest of the classes.

I think the opportunities for grouping are far more limited on this server than they should be. And that's bad, because a lack of community cohesion and interdependence is precisely what killed EQ live in the first place. We seem to be seeing a repeat of that same dynamic here.

I often send tells to Mages and Necs to fill DPS spots and i often get them to group with....

Also i play an enchanter too, and i wasnt in a large guild all the time. I group very often with non-guild-grps so your point doesnt count really.

You will now probably say sure i find lot groups on my ench because of crack, and on my druid because shes a healer, but i also had no troubles finding groups on my ench b4 she was lvl 29. The key is to send a lot of tells, im absolutely sure there is not much difference for all classes.

Damn you no-edit-button:

I agree that there is too much soloing going on since the grp exp was nerfed solo exp is just WAY to much profitable imo, id like too see either solo exp nerfed or grp exp improved.

I just want to jump in and say how nice people have been. Two friends of mine were straight up given flowing black robes in najena. I was given one as well by a guildmember.

I think people have been super nice!

Regnon, my advice to you is as follows...

Take the initiative and start groups yourself. Don't think you need twink gear to get groups, you don't. You can't sit back and expect things to work out, be pro-active. Send tells to people in your level range and get some groups together.

Bingo on what Ponden said. I don't care if someone is a twink or not in my group. If you want to group, send out a /ooc or /shout or a direct /tell to a group member. Always works for me.

Progression Server - A progression server has been asked to be launched for quite some time. When we did the polls last year, the Mayong 51/50 server was chosen as the front runner and a progression server was chosen as a runner-up. The Mayong launched and had a great turnout but we are ready to turn a new page with that server and move onto the next best thing. After popular demand and much feedback by you, we believe a time-locked progression server is the best one to launch next. So we're discussing the best time to launch and best roll out plan to unlock each expansion so that content is maximized and accomplished and balanced so that you are not rushed nor left behind.

Scheduling for a Progression Server - We are currently all hands into development on our House of Thule expansion (launching October 12, 2010) and we are giving it as much attention as needed to ensure a great launch. Focusing on a progression server launch will have to come after the House of Thule, where as a schedule will be determined at that time. We have a time frame in our minds that makes sense to us and with our schedule but we will hold off on announcing that time frame until after a successful expansion release.

What this a p99 wannabe live server? Would be interesting if they actually brought it back to origanal with patch by patch release date x2 speed, so example, kunark would be within 6month of lock instead of 1 year.

Thanks for that informative post Ronas. I think a Progression Server, in it's truest form, will only work if it is designed like how P99 is, back to Classic. If its just the landmass of the original EQ release, but with the rules of current EQ, then I don't see the point returning. That said, I'll be keeping my eye on this. I wonder how it will work with EQ Next?
