I think item loot could be fun but only if drop rates were either drastically increased or decreased, if the crafting systems were refined to be more productive, merchant item prices weren't outrageous or there was no PvP level range. Anyone of these things could make item loot viable but with Red99 game mechanics at their current state item loot seems like it would only cater to hardest of sadomasochists. Resources are already scarce and providing an avenue to which players can take others' resources without any kind of balance will kill the population.

It makes items more valuable, makes plenty of no drop items more desirable that serve no purpose currently, balances casters against melee's as melee's now need to risk resist gear vs. them, cuts down on Fungi twinks as they're risking Fungis vs Short Sword*'s, etc., etc.

they didn't wait for months for their shot to kill nagafen with 15 people in classic, half of them being in their 30s, no bards, and one charmed pet, all because it was somehow bugged in a wall in tranix's hallway and amelinda wouldn't pull it out and just said fuck it

This is why it is always honorable to join Azrael. I will NEVER join nilly, because they have been the zerg-domination force for over two years, poopsocking PvE for an eternity, not even needing items but farming them just to cockblock/for alts. In reality both guilds have some decent and some not-as-decent people. but nihilum just has more baddies than Azrael does. join azrael if you want to have fun being the underdawg, being good at pvp and having bros. join nilly if you want empty-hearted pixel collection, and maybe meet 1 or two friends. at first many ppl in nilly might seem nice, but this is just a sugar coating they put on. almost all of the inner-nilly circle are scum. the ones rotating on the fringes (like you would be) are the decent ones

I remember killing a fully twinked lvl 8 when he went Linkdead on my mage back in classic on rallos. Getting that mithrill breastplate launched me forward greatly. I really was disappointed there was no item loot on this server when I decided to play here.
