You got most of it right, I dont raid on P99. So who are those Threads in the Blue Community directed twards? Are they ment for new people who JUST discovered Project 1999 as a whole, or are they ment for bored level 60s who want something new to do waiting for Velious? If Red was as awesome as people make it out to be, the devs would not of needed to add exp bonuses, or level ranges or coin only deaths. People at this point KNOW Red is there, now its just a matter if they like PvP or not now.

Am I hoping all threads/ads/blue broadcasts/level 1 EC criers come to a complete halt? No, but I hope it gets toned down. To how it was before.

The threads are meant to dispel rumours and bolster population - that applies to already-60s as well as those just starting out.

This server is nearly identical to blue except for some minor mechanics and pvp. Aside from that, the mobs hit the same, casters still cast, shamans still shaman etc....

Your experience is going to be what you make of it. You'll need thicker skin but look at the forums right now, red pals telling you to send them tells for starter plat and gear etc... Server is thriving and if you have a bad experience, take solace in the fact that your commitment will have been 290% than it would have been on blue (assumes full group).

That is one of my major beefs with this whole campaign. Those are, or were the only differences. But the devs are very going hypocritically against "As classic as possible" I mean what happens when Velious hits, your population plummets again? Are they going to add Shared Banks? short race hybrids? even bigger exp boost? armor dyes? dies.. dye, d.. Armor dye? PoK?

What if Red becomes the dominant server over time? Will they add exp boosts, ect, to Blue?

What happens when 10 years passes and devs give up on the project or someone dies? All of it is theory really. No one knows what will happen.

Classic is classic - you're right. The devs ultimately have the final say in what does or doesn't get implemented but for the most part, they implement classic mechanics unless they are game breaking or exploitable. Blue raid scene is a perfect example. Classic on most servers meant FFA, 1 guild dominated. Competitor guilds did what they could to get in on the action which in turn changed the game to become a circle jerk of fraps, training and antonican javelins not to mention rule lawyering and bitchy community. Now, for better or worse, people get a kick at the can slaying dragons.

Your experience is going to be what you make of it. There are lots of things I hate about classic that I would change. I'm more than happy to play in the classic era using my current ui and monitor configuration. I'm here to play everquest not feel those feels I felt that day in 1999 when I felt them. Classic experience .
