I never saw the value in keeping a shitload of plat on hand unless you're saving/holding for something specific, or formerly, if you wanted the ability to jump on an account trade. As a confirmed 1%er, most people are shocked to hear that I generally have less than 50k handy, if not being completely broke. I'd much rather have gear - outside of specific goals, plat doesn't do you any good.

This.. the right items hold value. Plat's value decreases every second of every day. Invest in items..

Never made sense to me why people would sell off their items before they left so they would have plat for their return. Inflation is a killer in MMOs. I mean, I get why people would want to start selling off items like Trak BPs and items that will decrease in value when Velious comes out. Invest in haste items, regen items, etc. They always hold great value long term. Weapons and armor tend to go down in value over the long term due to higher AC, better stats etc.
