I'm going to have to go with anime here as well. Way back in the day I got into Inuyasha and decided to meet up with some other people in my city who enjoyed it as well..... I somehow got myself into some cosplay larp bullshit. beat any love for anime right out of me. Also a couple of years ago in high school two different guys were caught jerking it in the library to anime. Just.... Yuck...... I'm not saying that every anime fan is weird, but I literally have yet to meet a semi fucking normal individual who enjoys anime.

I don't blame you for it tarnishing your whole idea of it.

Needless to say it was awkward.

Kaga isn't that bad, but I do have to admit the extreme amounts of anime are a bit obnoxious.

Now I'm confused, though. Why would you go play in a big tournament and expect it to be non-competitive? Just play with your friends, or go to pre-releases.

It's not the competitive attitude in general that I find unappealing, if I have a deck that I believe can carry me well I'll obviously play to win, it's the attitude that competition is the life of the game that bothers me.

These days it's certainly unrealistic to ask for any amount of good sportsmanship in anything higher level then FNM, but it doesn't have to be that way and it definitely wasn't that way in the past.

Apparently you have never played on the Pro Tour. Pretty much everyone there is a good sport. I have yet to encounter anyone do anything shitty on the Pro Tour. I did however watch a guy try and rule lawyer something but quickly recant once he realized a judge was watching. The highest level of magic is usually where everyone is the coolest. People earned the right to be there.
