If you guys want a shit-free post for testing PVP, use Offtopic. It isn't about this server, but still moderated.

I don't think anyone will object to this.

z-axis check of like 10 feet would be pretty easy

i think if you are in melee range of target ring you should be able to hit them no matter how high above or below you they are, should prolly impliment something so that when you zone you are da until your done loading zek/vztz both had a similar aproach and it workd...i know this was brought up in another thread but i believe it would be more beneficial here

the melee z-axis thing I'm torn on. I love hiding up in kithicor trees or on freeport walls when I play a caster, but then hate when I can't reach others while playing melee.

It's part of the eq dynamic, where each class has strengths and weaknesses.

Don't hate on casters. If you want to nerf a caster strength then nerf melee ability to bash, kick, slam, stun, etc...

I think 10 feet should be more than plenty, so you can hit people when they're on the same "level" as you with levitate, but not when they're up on a wall or whatever.

honestly, the Z axis thing is pretty retarded. I have never liked how in so many open zones a caster can just use levitate, and chain cast the shit out of a melee class and the melee have literally nothing he can do to stop it...

melee should be able to hit a caster no matter the Z-axis differance. and this is comming from a career pvp cleric. all i have to do is run off a spire/bridge/tree and cast, then run back, and i will be nearly immune from melee classes
