To that point, flu has a much shorter asymptomatic incubation period, so the benefit of masks is further reduced.

There it is. Thank you!

Implicit in your answer are a few statements.

You seem to be saying you don't support mandated masking, economic shutdown, or other such measures to protect against flu. If that's incorrect, feel free to correct me.

This means you are okay with some people getting sick of flu and dying so you can maintain your freedom from forced masking, closing your business, closing your kid's schools, etc.

What is your threshold? Is it number of deaths, a vaccine being available, or some other trigger that made you make the change for COVID?

I am genuinely curious.

Then the final question: we both are okay with sickness and death to degree to maintain our own freedom/finances. Why is someone with a higher threshold than you wrong? Why is someone with a lower threshold than you wrong?

Then you'll start to see the people you are arguing against aren't crazy, they just value freedom more or less than you.

Final thoughts on this.
  • Flu Vaccine isn't 100%. It varies from season to season and depends which flu type is going around. It ranges from lowering your chances of catching it from 30-70%. Hundreds of thousands of people die every year, even with a vaccine. Flu is a deadly killer. We're just used to it coming around ever year.
  • COVID is a flu-like virus. We know a lot about how it spreads.
  • Yes, COVID is more deadly for the 70+ group. The biggest hit were poorly run nursing homes who had terrible responses. That doesn't require an economic shutdown or mandated universal masking to combat. Our measures can be much more targeted than that.

You are okay with X number of people dying so you can keep your freedom, finances, and mental health.

You are not okay with Y number of people dying so you can keep your freedom, finances, and mental health.

I am curious what X and Y are.

Maybe you weren't smart enough to see where my line of questioning was going, but now you do - so you feign stupidity.

Are you going to need me to avoid compound sentences and use 1 sentence per paragraph moving forward so you can understand? <--Is this even okay for you [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Don't waste words on Pretzel. More than a few together and it blows his mind. "Word salad" ya know?

He doesn't want you to challenge his 'thinking'.

Follow your leader Pretzel: dodge questions and keep hiding in fear.

I don't have a leader - have a guy I've voted for that will do a better job than the cult leader you worship.

No I already got one in China town while telling the cameras the orange man is racist and that Americans need to come down to China town.

You are okay with hundreds of thousands dying for your own personal interest. So cruel.
