2 male friends of mine, one has called me twice, the other once because they got a flat tire somewhere.

I am always the "guy in the group who knows how to get stuff done", I accept this and I do cultivate that image. but seriously dudes? How do you manage your way through life if you can't change a tire.

I've been unlucky with tires over the years, watched and learned list most young people when they first need to sort it... I couldn't imagine getting stranded.

I tell everyone to buy an AAA membership, it's dirt cheap and it will get your ass out of a real bind if you end up stranded.

do they have that or some similiar roadside assistance service in the UK? I figure with that being a smallish island, no matter where your car breaks down there is a town or something nearby, but it would be handy to give a bloke a bell from your mobile so he'll arrive in his lorry, sort that whole mess and bob's your uncle.
