Wizards mostly spam their flux staffs and run in circles. They also cast TLs and nuke. Taking people to Sky is cool, but is more of a bonus (Sky neck is actually really awesome). Paladins mostly just hover Soulfires. Sometimes they trash or ramp tank. Most classes don't do much on raids.

DA -> Sanctification is perfect against targets like Trakanon. And if banished, can heal/lay hands through the damage until you're cothed back or hammer procs. Can also trash tank blue drakes with less mana issues afterwards, swapping in DW gauntlets to dispel thunder blast with one or two clicks. Definitely more to it than just SoulFire, though that's highest on the list and, without one, the raid has much less cushion / will need more coordination with reapers.

I suspect there's more to it with wizards as well but never played one.

This is a really neat part of their kit, and it's cool when Pallies get to shine.

My point is more that all the classes are limited, and wizards are actually important to raiding, just not in the way he thinks they _should_ be.

Aye, fair enough. There are opportunities to deviate here and there depending on the target but mostly what's expected from each class is known and be ready to do it a majority of the time; trying to get overly creative with it often will just lead to death and ridicule.

Dual wield is not top DPS in classic, especially if you don't get a dragon haste item and are instead using an FBSS when dual wielding compared to 36% when using a Monsoon or Sunderfury. Hell, even Mithril 2h is probably better. The damage bonus and dual wield skill cap at level 50 isn't high enough to make dual wield superior, and classic 1h ratios are really bad in general, PoSky come so late in classic that it's effectively Kunark content. The best 1hs a warrior can realistically have throughout the majority of classic is Blood Fire and something like SSoY. Monsoon/Sunderfury will outdamage that, especially if it also represents a 15% boost in haste for those who don't have a dragon haste item.

It's different for rangers who a) don't get any really good 2hs in classic and b) get better 1hs than warriors do.

At lvl 50 the haste cap is only 70%, so as long they have a lvl 39+ enchanter haste even an fbss will bring to the cap

I see alot of monks punching between T-staff/IFS swings, I do that too until I get tired of all the clicking

Weren't Rangers, and Hybrids in general, scorned vitriolically during Classic/Kunark? Someone actually made a chart for Rangers in Kunark era saying that, if you didn't take advantage of every little think, you should reroll, and if you DID use literally everything the Ranger had at their disposal, congratulations, you were a weak Monk.

It was more of the XP penalty (at least on Blue) as to why hybrids were shat upon. Rangers being the worst tank hybrid were especially shunned.

People love Rangers on Green, and it seems like the Ranger epic is getting completed regularly because ever FKing Ranger has it .
