Stormfeather rules need to change

This thread has gotten off topic with a bunch of "Actually..." responses to random stuff.

Stormfeather should be FTE. It is not a Placeholder camp. It follows the same cycle as Lodizal for the same quest in the same zone, which is FTE. Almost every other camp where the mob spawns after a duration without a PH is FTE. You aren't camping anything. You are waiting out a timer with a window.

A lot of the big bottleneck camps are induced by demand because people pay for LR. Vessel drozlin comes to mind. We have a team of chanters/melees/clerics and a trigger bot parked there to help our ench who are close to completion and we win 20% of the races because it is hard to beat the GG monks selling LRs. Chanters by themselves stand no chance most of the time vs insta engages.

If it was just chanters willing to put effort in racing for it, it wouldn't be the clusterfuck it is but some people would rather pay 75k than actually try, creating the problem in the first place. There is never going to be a no LR rule though.

Which makes your argument even more moronic (and you WERE talking about boxed accounts and how people play on live earlier — people routinely uses bots on those accounts, and of course it's happened here too).

The only way it would ever marginally make sense to have 18 SK's sit at the Idol camp when DPS racing is if they were botting: each of them on rotation being able to instantly Harm Touch the spawn every time to pops via the bot. Otherwise whoever's turn it is to HT could easily lose to anyone else who comes along and presses their button faster.

Even with cheating they still wouldn't be able to have an actual monopoly like people unclassically can on p99, because 18 people can't just sit there all the time. At some point most of them will need to get off those characters and actually go play the game. Without cheating it would just be an insane waste of resources. The smart guild management would be keeping 1 rogue there; double backstab will do enough damage most of the time. Sometimes you'll lose to other people because they click faster, but that's way better than idiotically having 18 people there and not competing for 17 other camps or doing other exp/quest stuff.

You need to learn to read people's posts, play P99 a bit more, and admit you are wrong sometimes.

On P99, Idol camp has already changed hands plenty of times without your specific rules. Plenty of guilds on P99 pay DKP for services like camping Shiny Brass Idol. If the rules change, players will adapt. They always do.

Even on P99, perma-camped camps have changed hands. I told you this before. Shiny Brass Idol camp was perma-camped for years, but it still changed hands. Sometimes people go afk, don't get a replacement, etc.

There is no reason to respond to your other points, as you won't actually read what I say.

I wouldn't mind if all camps on P99 were FTE to be honest. But it won't solve the problem of some people losing the FTE racee 30 times in a row. This does happen, and is the ultimate source of these kinds of threads. People are just annoyed that they aren't getting the loot the want. If the rules were changed to FTE, someone else would be complaining they can never get FTE.

That's fine. There is no perfect solution. It's still going to be a bottleneck. I'd rather compete for a chance to get it than join a list maintained by one random player who spends their entire life milking this camp.

People will always complain for sure. It would fix the problem of one random dude running the list for the server for years on end and NEVER coming off of it. He literally loots it and then immediately tells you to put him back on the list lol. Competition is more fun than that. If he wants to compete for his 19,400p then great.

I agree it is annoying someone can loop on a list if they are that dedicated lol. I prefer competition as well.

This same guy would be at the FTE race each time. Naturally they are going to get really good at this specific FTE race over time since they are always there.

This means they still have an edge over the random player who shows up and is slightly off position, not as familiar with the timer, etc. It is still going to be tough to get the FTE from someone this dedicated to a single camp, as they will be better at this FTE race than you.

I have a feeling they would stop showing up if the camp had any component to it besides being AFK 80-90% of the time. Could be wrong though. There are competitive active ways to make more money per hour than camping Stormfeather but they are never actually there.

It's also a normal timer corpse so selling LR is a lot trickier on a random FTE. You could still do it, but its way more of a pain to unload than a 30-minute corpse. Everyone camping FTE for LR would need to have the details very worked out.

With discord, selling loot rights isn't too hard. I've done it before with Ayillish's Talisman. When you have the mob's spawn timer, you just tell the client "be online at this time at this location for the kill". It is easy to message back and forth to get everything lined up. Since Stormfeather has a long spawn time, you have at least 18 hours to line up a buyer. That's a good chunk of time for a no lifer.

With an FTE, you cannot guarantee the kill of course. But if you are very good at a specific FTE, you will build a reputation for getting the kill most of the time. So you'll be the most trusted seller for the loot rights.

Realizing now there was a post made up about my SF service.

First off the claim I am on a family computer is complete bullshit not even once with 0 founding its just slander and defamation.
I guarantee you have 0 proof of that BS because it does not exist.

I am not logged into the camp 24/7, I raid all the time including raids I have attended with you including kiting vulak guards etc.

I have attended the last 10+ 7 day cycles and quakes and the camp is open outside of what I will mention following.

I leave the camp after every successful camp for an extended period of time , I give times of deaths to those who ask so they are not shooting in the dark with additional contact information if I am not online.

I list people when asked and help maintain that list for people who are #2 and 3 allowing them to enjoy the game and do other stuff while informing new people who list up that they have an hour to return to camp if it gets contested. The camp sucks enough as is, why make it worse for everyone involved.

Just ask for a TOD I would be glad to help you get the camp and map instead of making up bullshit conspiracies shooting in the dark on a camp that spawns once every 75 hours and flaming you did not even message me to ask.

I have countless number of people who I have helped TOD and held camp for while they raid as #1 to self farm their own map stop pushing unfounded conspiracies
