This is my favorite thing to do when leaving a particularly shitty group.

Have fully hasted / torched pet. Wait for big pull. Gate.
Yea I dunno, I think you could get banned for that, if the party figures out what you did and petitions... not a great idea.

"Shit sorry guys, have an emergency and I have to log. Gating out. Sorry." is likely enough to avoid any ban

I don't know how the staff do things, but I have to imagine that A) they aren't stupid, B) they have some kind of list of potentially problematic players.

Drop a pet on a group one time? Highly unlikely to get a ban: heck, the odds are good no one would even report you. But keep doing it enough times and people will petition ... and again, while I don't know for sure, I have to assume that when the same player gets petitioned over and over, the staff will take a look at that player.

Then again, counterpoint: Diddly.

Nobody can get banned for that LOL. It's the risk anyone takes grouping with a charm pet or someone who can FD. Don't group with someone again if think they caused a slaughter on purpose. That's supposed to be the entirety of how EQ operates - people can do whatever they want if it's not harassment/hacking, and if you don't like it then try to blacklist them from your alliance.

It would be the equivalent of a monk dragging an overleveled mob to your group and FD with the intention of getting you killed.
