Based on the Wiki there seems to be conflicting info. The Wiki states:

"The AC has a single placeholder cycle, which may be Sandgiant Husam, a sand giant, a desert madman, barbarian male A Dervish Cutthroat, or a mummy. Out of all of these, the AC has a 10% chance of spawning in any spawn event. The AC or his PH will only spawn at night (9PM to 7AM in SRo) and has a 30.6 minute respawn timer. This classic placeholder cycle was revealed by EQ Dev Prathun in 2008 and confirmed by Nilbog in 11/18/2016."

But then someone added this note:

"IMPORTANT NOTE - As a long time Jboot farmer, I've never seen AC up at any point other than 9pm on Blue. He either spawns or he doesn't, no PH helps or hinders this process. Very low chance of spawn anywhere in the desert. A FTE Message has also been added to the Sro AC in order to clearly show who got FTE to avoid disputes / petitions."

Sro AC does indeed either spawn or not spawn at 9pm every game day, and he does have specific spawn locations all of which are in the sand\desert area of the zone, and at 9pm either he or a PH will spawn at one of those locations. I've gotten the sro ac four times on green, most recent one being about 2 weeks ago. Two of the times I've gotten him, he spawned in the exact same place which was approx -800, +1100 near where the sand meets the grassy area.

If you can pinpoint one of his spawn locations, just show up and stand right on it at 9pm and you might get lucky. Standing in the middle of the desert and trying to track\race for it usually doesn't work out and you just leave frustrated cause some douchey bard or druid with spirit of cheetah gets it.

makes me wonder why/how they have been camping this for years... there's clearly not years worth of jboots out there..

Everyone would have a jboots already even on all their alts if it was.

Maybe they're AI robots that are just deleting the ring after it drops?

I think it is market control. They'd rather loot a weeks worth of rings and have them start to rot/ go thru the work of recorpsing than allow them to regularly go less than the controlled price (5k?).

That's the dirty secret though, I've seen the black market side of jboots too, they don't go for 5k, they go for 3k if you have the right connections.

5k is just the controlled price for the regular market. It's fine for normal market use but the people(hirem) that are perma-camping AC are selling it in backdoor channels on other websites (such as discord) for 3k.

I warned the GMs this was going on too and got told to basically bugger off. Not sure how much more corrupt it could get aside from the GMs getting money donations to "look the other way"

The real sad truth is that naelamru, aka snaccpak, was caught in the middle of all this. I'm guessing he saw the lower prices too and was offering those standards to the open market. The people that immediately started to "shut him down" wasn't because of the kill theft, but rather, because he was breaking the market up-sale.

They can't corner the market if everyone offers the same price. It's money loss to them.
