Comedy did go into the toilet but it was long before the wokeness.
Listen to Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor, George Carlin. Cosby did observational humor decades before Seinfeld and that whole coterie, Pryor did slice of life better than anyone, and Carlin's philosophical takes can't be beat. What followed later was a bunch of stoners, look how stoned and stupid he is, that's funny, and shockers, oh wow pedophile jokes so shocking I should laugh to seem elite and progressive. Yes there were some gems among the latecomers, but the vast majority were unfunny retreads. Just look what passes at comedy movies these days. Free Guy? Help I Shrunk My Friends? I disagree, there have been comedy greats at the same rate that there were comedy grates ive been a fan of comedy since the 70s
Since wokeness comedy has taken a big downturn. But leading up tot he LCK days (the last king) there have been the same number of big comedy heavy hitters doing great stuff. Even Dane cook's sets from the 2000s are amazing. Comedy is just something that is, it's not manufactured, it's not anything. It just is. And the only thing that can stop it is if you shut it down. Jokes will always be fresh because eventually some furry is going to walk into a job application in a dog suit and now we got a whole new line of jokes to make about what's going on in the news. | ||

You could easily get upset at Ms Doubtfire. Or not. And enjoy it for what it was. A goofy and albeit somewhat niave and lowbrow exploration of motherhood, gender and parenting roles.

Place the T word as effectively harming half of 0.3% of ppl. Who would have been harmed by the C word anyways. I would like to actually try to petition the goverment that that rhyme is dog whistle hate speech, I wonder what kind of signatures I need to get that on the news in California. | ||
