I’m not defending communists. That said, people die as a result of capitalism too and always have done. Whether protecting American commercial interests in the 2000s or raiding the grain silos to ensure shareholders don’t lose out during a manmade famine in India in the age of sail. Sadly gulags were a problem that predated communism and massed punitive incarceration isn’t exactly a foreign problem to the US.

Communism is effective at quickly industrialising and raising living standards in a nation, but America is far beyond that being useful. People enjoy consumerism, they just want to ensure their dignity and basic needs are protected. It’s not so different to why gun ownership is popular.

I know this sounds compelling, but just know that literally every generation can say this about the generation that came before it, all the way back to the begining of time.
