We had this discussion yesterday at home. The majority of us would prefer to wait a while and see the potential side-effects - these vaccines are clearly being rushed into market in a number of countries and there has been quite a small test-pool size, relatively speaking.
People are so quick to throw the "anti-vaxxer tin foil hat" label on others whom are sceptical of the current vaccine offerings, but there are numerous examples of Pharmaceutical companies rushing vaccines and other treatments to market and having disastrous side-effects (certain Polio and HPV vaccines immediately come to mind). The firm which I up until very recently worked for here in Ireland represent GSK, which are STILL the subject of lawsuits over the Thalidomide disaster. It really comes down to how the potential side-effects of the vaccine weigh against the symptoms of the coronavirus. I wish all of you whom are so sure of this remedy the best of luck.

When they come up with a non-synthetic aka natural vaccine I'll consider it. The synthetic vaccines have a publicly known record for having adverse side effects. And no that's not anything related to tinfoil people.

It will be interesting to see how this vaccination process plays out. Will our society be split into castes based upon whether or not we have the shots? My thought experiments keep taking me to a future in which establishments refuse to service people who don’t have their “immunization passport” up to date. COVID has certainly set the stage for many years of strange conversations.

Of course I'm going to take it.
Vaccines are stage fights for your immune system so you don't have to fight the real thing. Its like if you were forced to fight a black bear to the death in gladitorial combat, and someone asks if hey, want us to drug it unconsious first? People refusing the vaccines be like "nah, that bear's small, I'm a fucking badass, I'll just beat it to death live." Ok bro, you have fun with that, but I'll take my bear tranqed, thanks. Sure, you -can- die from a vaccine, just like you -can- die in a fight with an unconsious bear (punch it, break your wrist, sever an artery, bleed to death) but lol if you can't win when the opponent is completely crippled out of the gate how do you think you would have fared when its trying to eat you?

On my news feed today: doctors should warn of serious side effects from covid vaccine.
I'm guessing worse than a typical flu shot.

Err...how is an un-vaccinated person spreading anything to vaccinated people if said vaccine works as advertised? Anti-vaxxers put themselves at risk, not other people.
I may take a corona vaccine eventually, but I'll let other folks line up to be the first wave of human guinea pigs. Danth

2. Some subset of the population is unable to tolerate vaccines, particularly severely immunocompromised people. Also, some of the potential vaccines produce lower titer levels in elderly individuals and it's unclear whether the protection for them will be as strong as is in younger people. Not an issue with Moderna or Pfizer vaccines as far as we know. 3. Children rely on their parents for sound decision-making. Anti-vaxxers put their children at risk by leaving them unvaccinated.
