Please for the love of everything holy, just pirate it. You by no means should feel guilty for this one.

After watching episodes 3 and 4 of Discovery, I'm liking it more. I wish they would have premiered the show with the feels from the last 2 episodes instead of character development seen in the 'free' pilot. Maybe I'm underestimating how many people are gonna pay for all access, but I want the show to succeed for the good of the franchise.

The Orville also going strong.. 5th episode was very 'matter of time' tngish. As the show progresses, I'm seeing less comedy and more scifi. Too many pickles maybe.

How are the ratings on Orville right now though 5 episodes in?

The show smashed ratings at 16 million viewers live for its premier. How is it doing now? Does Orville have legs? Will sci-fi continue to have a place on a major network?

The fact is-- as good as Discovery is or isn't, its still not on network TV, and its still not on Netflix. That makes it a whole different animal.

I thought I read somewhere that DIS is on netflix outside of the US... It's only those of us in the states getting the CBS turboshaft, I think.

I'm enjoying both, especially after DIS episode 4. I'm just thrilled to have some awesome sci-fi back on network TV and I hope that FOX's efforts cause other networks to open up and do the same.

Babylon 5 was a decent series. My boss lent me the DVDs / movies and advised me on the order to watch them, so I had a pretty good experience with it. The background on O'Hare is interesting - I hadn't know that piece of trivia.

JMS has worked on some interesting stuff. He wrote several episodes of the "The Real Ghostbusters" cartoon. I never realized this until I was binging it on Netflix recently.

Back on track - I'm wondering where this "spore" technology is going to end up. It's always interesting when they add-in things like this and the "new" Klingons to the timeline. At least we can point to this and finally settle the old Warp vs Hyperdrive debate with the Warsies =p

So... I was just re-watching episode 4 (DIS) and I noticed that sickbay has exterior portholes. That's a far deviation from being central and the "most protected/shielded" part of the ship. Now I'm waiting for more abramsverse changes to blow my mind.

Star Trek has never been good at realistic ship designs, let's be honest. I mean, let's have a bridge with all the command staff on it with just a glass protecting them from space. Lel.

A good show for smart designs was BSG.
