Bouffalo here , I have no upfront fee and help plenty of lowbies and oodles of other people for nothing. I don't take it up with low / no tippers but if I feel I'm being taken advantage of I will eventually ignore someone. Perhaps two or three people populate that list. One time when I was super busy I asked for 75pp for a double EJ port and bind in Kesora for 2 people. When they explained their situation I simply had them wait , and got to them in 10-15 mins for free and made their day. Try to remember like anything else in life or p99 there are times when things can be frustrating and not to base your entire opinion of someone or DAP on yhat one time. Dap and my customers have been great to me , I thank you all.

Seriously OP, the level of entitlement you expect is embarrassing. Dial a Port is an incredibly casual guild with a very limited rule set for its members. It's not even a new rule. When I joined Dial in 2015 it was already established that each member had the right to set their own rates. And why not? We get stiffed all the time. Sure, some people pay quite generously, but does that mean we just eat it when someone feels like wasting our time? Personally, I found the rates were better in the long run when I didn't set prices up front, but I did try it after a frustrating weekend with abnormally high rates of stiffs.

Porting is sometimes just more relaxing than other means of making cash. Can watch TV or do other shit and just watch for tells without having to worry about getting owned. Maybe even chat with a mofucka or two.

Setting fees up front seems kinda pointless as some tips are way higher than average and somewhat make up for the broke folks. Broke asses won't pay them anyway so all you'd be doing is discouraging the higher tipping folks.

As far as greed goes I almost never turn down any port requests but if you are higher level and regularly tipping next to nothing I will probably ignore you. As in just not reply, not /ignore. Or if you want some sort of special request and I have a few ports in front of you I will probably tell you no or let you know it will be a while. Lastly if you are low level and/or broke and begging for 10 ports a day I will probably stop replying also. I mean really, you can walk. It's part of the low level EQ experience.

I don't understand the entitlement/hate. No one is entitled to a port. People don't have a DAP character because they want to sit around all day being the friendly charity porter. If you want to do that more power to you. I'm sure you're a sweetheart and all the chicks will realize it and leave that asshole they've been dating for you once they find out. Keep your armor polished today could be the day!

Choosing independent porters may make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside but when DAP people make less money and find something more lucrative to do it will just result in less easy to find ports for everyone. Way to ruin the server, commies.

Never meet a really bad DaP yet(most are on my friends list even if they are no longer in the guild like Twine for example) the only bad DaP I met refused to pick me up in Lava for some odd reason (even though they were just sitting in EC) so I just sent a tell to another druid sitting in EC asking if they where free to make some plat [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] tipped 200pp just to go from Lava to SteamFront, made that Druids day and another friend.

Dial a Port is garbage, there are plenty non-guilded Druids or Druids in actual guilds that play the game that actively port in EC now though. Stop using them and let the shit guild die.
