Seriously? You seriously need proof that he is a worthless pos? Look through any post in the past few months where he refuses to bury the hatchet and forget about BDA, trolling their guild recruitment page, ignoring information about the Phinny server, shitposting "try red" more than anyone else, etc etc etc. He was like the Harrison to TMO, but at least Harrison was well enough adjusted to forget about it and move on.

Or how about that grandiose "retirement" thread he made awhile back and everyone hated on him? Wonder how long that retirement lasted (hint, not long). Or how about his petty attention seeking fitness threads about how he burns 2000 calories a day or some BS. Now he even went as far as to ask for money from the community for a "race." How can you be so biased in the other direction? The dude lives on these boards and is clearly attention starved. Unfortunately all this thread is doing is fueling his ego and that drive for attention. Really it just goes to show how pathetic he really is.

Some of his posts are just so dumb they've gotten to the point of the "hurr durr look at how retarded I am, ha ha I was only pretending" meme level. Yet here you are trying to convince everyone how amazing he is. Baler = Swish alt account?

Swish got me seriously interested in red. He helped me understand the lay of the land on there. In turn I had a fantastic experience. I PVP'd in Everquest and it wasn't bad. I believe swish is a good community member.

This is fine if that's your opinion of him, I just think these are things you should share with him, not a community forum. The guy got banned for being bad.

show your support by contacting him and comfort him or whatever you want, but no one here will change their mind about him because you explain your personal feelings about him.

Good posts at page 1 by OP, Barkingturtle n Maskedmelon. Swish is a quality member on both servers n the forums. Lots of good posters getting banned and mostly shitposters left that revell in the aftermath of these.

I never said you have to like the guy. I just want people to be aware that he isn't as bad as some people make him out to be. They love to shine the light on specific sections of quotes and try to sensationalize it to convince people he's a bad guy.

He's not a bad guy. He is an active member of the community who has helped people many, many times. In game & on the forums.

You're right it is their problem. But it slowly becomes a public problem when they start 4chan style posting. What do I mean by this?
Well basicly someone will make a post that is 'out there' and other people will joking go along with it. Until someday someone who really believes in that post starts posting those things as truth. All of a sudden you have people going from joking to being sickly serious.

That is when it matters when people who do not know the difference start joking and then seriously start posting negativity.

I'd bet anyone on this forum that half of the people who say the negative things about swish are just saying it to follow in suit with other people as a joke or less serious nature. Meanwhile there are real sicko's trying to damage a community member reputation.

I'm not making any of this up.
Please don't try to misconstrue my words. This is only one aspect of things. In how people who know virtually nothing about the dude will say the meanest things for no reason.

what I want to know is how swish got rehabilitated to the point where anyone defends him as a "quality member". I'm willing to accept judgments from super old guard people because I wasn't around then. but if my join date precedes yours I haven't the faintest idea where you saw this good guy swish. 95% of his posts were slams on bda or derails about how we had to fry bread or whatever.

not that this should be about the content of his character or whatever anyway, but if we want to make it about that, he'd lose there too imo.

BDA went to Phinny and seems most the Swish haters were them. I never had an issue with BDA and questioned the fervor of Swish's crusade against them, but I think he was just looking to defend the interests of smaller guilds. Whether you are with him in that crusade or not, he's always been helpful to new and existing players, giving advice on gameplay and tech, etc.

it's not just that, maskedmelon. there was the fry bread crusade. you don't mind that because you were convinced by it. baler doesn't mind that because he was convinced by that too.

his advice is also generally terrible, and was all the more so because he spent a lot of time giving advice about blue while not playing on it, but that's more or less besides the point.

in the end, someone who takes every opportunity to push their agenda is no better than a paid pop up advertisement, and equally annoying. I use ignore, but the damage he does to threads by people who respond to him remains.
