Fuck it. I still had more fun on Rolfron Beta for 3 weeks than 95% of my R99 experience. Sad but true.

I think any "cool and normal" people would consider boxing absolutely retarded and not play EQ versus modern games because of it.

You don't have to box to compete, you will just need to rely on others more. Instead of your guild needing 6 people you may need 10 if a couple people don't want to box. If you are a warm body and just along for the ride you don't need to box, but I guarantee you the ones holding your small crew together will be and you will benefit from it.

People look at boxing as a disadvantage but it really isn't. You add less to your guild but your character will probably be better geared and you will be more efficient in PvP. The ones making the sacrifice to help better gear your character will be 2 boxing. They will have the support classes that are targeted when you are jumped and probably have the most deaths.

On a server like project 1999 2 boxing is a decision to where a server like Zek it is a must. The Devs are very active and wouldn't hesitate to shut down 2 boxing if they saw the population growing and didn't want it anymore. They add in conveniences to help a small community get by and take them away if the community grows.

If only 25 unique players are logged in you don't want to be stuck somewhere waiting for a port or lfg.

its not about making the game eisier to play for you noobs, boxing takes away the most immersive aspect of an mmo, being a character in another world.
without immersion you might aswell play chess with your friends or some shit.

boxing is great, makes game more competitive and harder, really puts the trashcans on the backburner who can't control 2 chars simultaneously in pvp

You should know as well as anyone being in a large guild Teamspeak that not many people are here to RP. The casuals that just play to enjoy the game come and go.

The ones remaining play for a sense of accomplishment or social interaction they can't get outside of this game. You have people like Sektors putting up a 2nd mortgage for pixel acceptance among peers, trannies getting their first positive male attention and people like Fandango that need an audience to release their pent up drug induced energy. It is what makes the red99 community special, not RP.

2 boxing doesn't threaten any of that.
