I'm not a TMO kid but when I tried Red I make an iksar necromancer and had a good time leveling up to 21 until I found out I couldn't find my level 20 pet spell on Kunark and got discouraged. I killed a few people in Kurns but it got boring because they would zone in and attack you while medding, and then when you best them, they'd constantly zone in and out until you either outsmart them or get tired.
Would do again in the future when I can smoke weed again.

When I joined red, this notion that there were superior PVPers there was unproven. As a simple blueblie, I transferred about 3k there, made an SK, and had a roughly 8:1 KD ratio. I would have killed a Tstaff monk with my shitty Green Jade Halberd if he wouldn't have plugged.
There are a handful of extremely talented PVPers there, and the rest are garbage who only win through huge gear advantage and/or a numbers advantage. It's a pick your poison scenario between red and blue. I give blue the edge slightly because of more normal people.

On Phinny, the biggest drama we have had was last night when someone yelled at someone else for eating in mumble during sky raid. its just a nice place to play.

I like the Red server, but Ive not played all that much on it.
I made a character there with the idea of trying to stay alive and roleplay myself out of dangerous situations, which was quite funny and immersive. I made a bunch of /say macros Id could flash out quick when attacked by crazies. My erudite would not attack other people without a provocation, would stay on the toes around trolls, ogres and other folks of suspicious nature and I managed to not stay alive in CB area for 15 levels at least. But alas, one day I stepped out of the treehouse platform and some geared up Elf Paladin attacked my back, I couldnt do anything to him either because of the guards was on his side. I said "Hold it brotha Paladin, what have come into you, attacking your bretheren instead of giving a helping hand!?" Well, lets say that didnt help and he kept killing me over and over again before I camped. Will check in some day maybe, but havent gotten the urge yet. I did also get the Gitmo treatment once, you know where you get blinded and raped and left with just a sliver of hp to just feel the shame take over. It happened in CB, he zoned out, perhaps embarresed, but I sent him a tell, asking him if these kinda things also happened to him when he came to these lands, and that he forever after just had the urge to drop into Crushbone and do the same to other younglings, if it helped his trauma? Dunno, maybe something triggered in his brain because he returned and healed my wounds and gave me some buffs. I would recommend Red sure.

I got to 57 on Red and enjoyed it a decent amount. The server really is full of some of the saddest humans I have ever encountered. High unemployment rate and an attitude of absolute deprivation toward healthy and meaningful lives abounded. I would guess half the server are very depressed and lonely individuals. It was fun being able to meet some great people to really bond with and have each others backs, but the low population made it brutal when you couldn't play with those people.
The people that play are the best pvpers I've seen in any game and they are incredibly creative in the ways they will try to attack you. I really liked the idea of raiding with pvp as a possibility since blue raiding is one of the most frustrating things I ever witnessed. The reality is that the same factor that governs raids on blue applies to red: he with the least real life responsibilities gets the raid target. I would love to pvp your raid, but I'm not getting up at 3 AM on a Tuesday to do it. I recommend red. It is one of the most unique gaming experiences available, but I recommend you leave when you hit level 52+ to avoid interacting with humans that are stuck in eternal neckbeard purgatory.

Population aside, the rule set on red is really poorly conceived. It should be absolutely forbidden to attack someone while they are engaged on a mob. If you cause someone exp loss, you ought to eat a ban or suspension for griefing.
The loot and scoot rule is backwards, should be the killer enforcing it not the dead person invoking it. Finally, the no teams thing is really unfortunate. As someone who only played Live on VZ, the no teams thing is really a killer. Fix those things, then come begging for people to play there.
