Lune I've noticed you often have an "edited by" disclaimer at the bottom of many of your high quality posts. Eating meat is one of those things where I full-on realize it's just so destructive, unethical, savage, and plain wrong, but I do it anyway. I've never heard a convincing argument in favor of meat eating (the way it works currently) being morally acceptable behavior, and it usually amounts to:

-You're a pussy.

or

-Animals and our ancestors eat/ate meat, so it's okay if we do.

Really the only reasonably ethical scenario is raising livestock so humanely that they have a decent quality of life and a painless death that is free of terror, but then meat and many animal products would be so expensive very few of us would be eating them anyway.

the reality is its even crazier than that! In the movie Cowspiracy (which is great by the way and sure to enrage the conservatives for no les than 8 years) they reveal that even if you raised your own animals or bought from only sustainable farms (as if there were such a thing) there wouldn't be enough space on the planet to feed it.

The truth is we're just going to have to wait until they can grow meat with out eyes, noses, brains and mouths to reduce the footprint meat consumption has on the earth.

No amount of colon cancer in our generation will stop people from eating those delicious, delicious burgers - I know I cant..

Once we have edible meat cultures, the luddite sadists will continue insisting upon paying a premium for meatslave flesh while chanting "frankenfoods cause autism/cancer". The footprint may reduce but without a revolution in ethics nothing gonna change. The way we treat animals in the West is perhaps the best yardstick of the absolute barbarity of our supposedly kind & gentle & politically correct society.

The operation linked above was literally the most successful PETA investigation since Silver Springs -- the first operation in US history to bring felony charges against lab workers, which resulted in over 200 animals being rescued. To pull it off the operative was required to work 7 days a week, with her days off from the undercover lab job being spent driving hundreds of miles to scout unrelated sites at minimum wage even as she was reporting daily to her superiors the documentation that would secure them the most successful case in PETA's history, and extremely damning buttoncam footage.

In case you've ever wondered, the reason PETA comes off like such a band of lunatics is because it is engineered to do so. It's run as a dictatorship with every undercover reporting almost directly to the queen, who deliberately waylays and mismanages and forces busywork onto operatives until they crack under the pressure. Very high turnover. This same individual orders the insane dog-kidnapping and counterproductive media campaigns that alienate the animal rights community from the mainstream. When she gets too old, she will unilaterally declare a new dictator of the organization. This was how the most successful undercover operative in PETA history broke down the machinations of the organization to me.

COINTELPRO is not a myth or tinfoil conspiracy theory. You'll find that it's right there in your face very quickly when you actually start to engage in meaningful activism. Ask a black nationalist some time about government undercovers. This is the face of evil -- men who deceive by all means necessary and use violence to protect profits gained from the torture of animals and the unfettered and unnecessary sadism of their employees. Even the expense involved in enforcing a bare minimum of standards required to prevent animals from unnecessary torture in their service to mankind is more than these monsters will bear, if they can lie and manipulate their way out of doing so.

Not sure why I'm sharing this with you nitwits, but there are certain forms of firsthand illumination I suppose I feel a duty to spread while I can.

I've been vegan for almost four years now.

I feel fucking great. My boners are frequent and possess the firmness of a much younger penis. My hair and nails are fucking beautiful. I haven't had even a cold in the past three years. I haven't had the need to blow my nose even once. I'm fucking morally superior, too.

If you're still eating animals in this day and age, you're the weak one. Probably fat and sick and stupid, too.
