I'm sure someone posted this combo.. But I always thought a class that was a combo of a bard/wizard, could be skinned to look like a Archer.. Nimbly moving and shooting, providing pure single target dps at a ranged distance.

Stack Dex on this class and can only wear leather maybe idk..

I've just always wanted an actual Archer in Eq.

Shoulda played Vanguard...hands down best classes in any MMO I have played...best implementation of a bard ever, bloodmage was a amazingly fun healer to play with a high skill cap, disciple was a little OP but a healing monk was a blast, rangers actually used bows...can not wait for emu...

See this is why I like Bob. He gets it. When the emu is playable I'm not sure I will ever play anything else.

This.

I got a whole bunch of ones I can't come up with names for.
Enc/shaman, shaman/druid, paladin/rogue, bard/shadowknight...

A cleric/wizard/necromancer would be a Bloodmage, a cloth-wearing, extremely resilient tank caster. They wouldn't have necro pets, superpowered nukes or gamebreaking heals, but a mixture of all three wrapped in a layer of warrior-esque health thanks to cleric- and shaman-type buffs. Their healing and damage power would be on par with Rangers.

Like Azeth said. Blood mage is what you are asking for. They could tank group content easily, did great dps, and great healing.

The cool thing about VG was almost all the classes were OP if you were a good player. You could 3 man most 5 man content if the three of you were solid players...made the game very challenging and fun.

And thanks Glenzig....i will most likely be doing the same thing. If the Vanguard Emu is done right...it will be amazing.

IMHO there are 2 combos missing from EQ:

Elemental Warrior - Warrior / Mage/Wizard hybrid. You can intact have 2 of them:
Ice Guard
Stone Guard

Air and Fire don't really associate with heavy tank class in my mind , but they could pair well with a monk base template:

Elemental Monk :
Flame Walker
Wind Walker

Also: Enchanter/Monk hybryd

The people who invented the first space ships were brilliant. That doesn't mean anybody should actually want to use them 200 years later. Ideas are limited by means of execution. Everquest has amazing ideas that need to be completely reworked in their execution, in order for classic Everquest as it was envisioned to actually exist and continue to be relevant as things have evolved.
