well.. it guarantees the company profits from the game whether its good or really shitty.. besides that can't really see what the point is

Well pretend R99 is a pay service thing, and Velious expansion is announced with a release date of 12/1/2014. If you pre-order you get a free piece of skyshrine armor.

Would you pre-order?

That's different. We've already played Velious so we already know we'll like it.

You would buy the game when it's released on faith you'd like it anyway, and risk the same amount of money to do so. If I already know I'm going to buy a game (I don't like every game I've bought) and I can get even the smallest incentive for pre-ordering literally 3 days before the game comes out why wouldn't I do it?
