Why is 4 unacceptable when 5 isn't? It's already 4 from 1-20 and people seem okay with it there. If the server looks blue from an outside perspective it will bring in more players, and that would (hopefully) result in a net gain of pvp just from the added population. 4 doesn't really seem that bad to me, especially at the high end where levels are capped.

4 is Rallos, which is pussy pvp. 5 would at least distinguish it from that. 6 would be better but 5 would at least not equate this server with Rallos, the biggest joke in the history of MMO PvP.

If we're going for FFA 8 is way too much. It worked because of the teams aspect on TZ.

Ok fine, people can't handle 8 levels. I agree that you can't be competitive against someone who is 8 levels higher. But how about 6 levels? 5 levels? There is a middle ground between too wide and too narrow. Why do we have to go from one extreme to the other?
