AND PROTEIN FROM THE SEA!!!!

Serenity (2005) - I don't need to sing it's praises , the same goes for The Thing (1981) and Close Encounters of The Third Kind (1977), again I have no idea how obscure anything is to anyone but hey these havn't been mentioned yet

Assuming everyone here saw this but again gonna post it anyway:

The road with Viggo Mortgensen (spellinglol) Not a fan of the syrupy sentimentality but top notch post-apocalyptic visuals throughout

Viggo lines more annoying than the kid, the kid annoyed me at first but thats not a kid that had a happy childhood, thats a traumatized kid. Once you view it within that framework, the kid isnt so annoying anymore

I think its great Mortgensen took a role in a movie like this after basically not needing to work for the rest of his life probably because of LOTR

I liked The Road mainly because I am a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction. It was a bit dreary but I still liked it enough to read the book after seeing the movie.

Another story that I liked even more was Joshua by John Wilson. I would love if they made it into a movie too. It's really good.

I actually saw Serenity before firefly, the movie stands on it's own really

And now I gotta watch The Fly! oddly enough I've never seen the remake, only a few scenes witch were awesome but simultaneously off putting lol. I assume it's better than the original. And speaking of remakes

Invasion of The Body Snatchers (1978) - Another mostly horror kinda sci fi movie. I liked this one a lot more than the original; it was much better directed and had a lot more memorable sequences / scenes.

You should check out "Random acts of senseless violence" (more pre-apoc than post though) and Hmm another one by octavia butler "Parable of the sower" if you like those kind of stories, ill take my time and make a post with suggestions for stories in that genre.

Will check out your suggestion, we got a killer public library in Montreal and they order quite a bit of scifi
