Guess what happened when reliefe was sent down to aid victims of hurricane katrina, people robbed and stole from those who were sent to aid them. Look what happens at a football game when someones team loses, people are mostly sheep and will panic at a moments notice when anything goes the wrong way. This type of person will need ot be controlled and the ultimate control is life and death, which can easily be controlled with by a firearm of sorts. There are people who live their entire lives based on the idea of getting by by fucking anyone and everyone over. Get your head out of the sand.

This is a google earth view of a neighborhood of Kabul, Afghanistan. Every one of those buildings you see is a building surrounded by 8-10 ft. high walls, often with barbed wire. Firearms are ubiquitous as is their use.

Here you can see some of the walls:

This is a society of people out for themselves. They do not trust each other. They do not respect the rule of law. Every family builds a castle and serves as a garrison, because it is a necessity, because they have an attitude like yours. When they have a disagreement, they spill blood. People are out for themselves to a greater extent than in many western countries.

In the United States, a large part of our stability is based on trust. We do not barricade our homes like castles (for the most part), because we do not seriously believe we share a zero-sum relationship with our neighbors. Those elements exist in our system, but they are more subdued.

You start talking about "Well some people do this bad thing....". What's next? You build a wall around your house and man it with your assault rifle? Tell everyone to fuck off so you can protect your family? How is that working for the Afghanis?

If, in general, we believe it is a good thing to look after our neighbors and our fellow man, help them in their time of need, and trust them, then we cultivate a more peaceful, stable, and prosperous society. Even if that means we suffer some bad individuals wreaking their havoc on a pussified society, I find that preferable.

Everything you do is out of fear of other people and it's disgusting.

TL;DR- you have the mindset of someone who doesnt understand how real life actually functions once shit hits the fan, your ideas are nice but unrealistic at best. When that trust you spoke of crumbles as masses pillage any and everything they can get their hands on you need barriers, defenses are required in situations such as those you noted.

Pease and stability will come eventually everything in life has opposites EVERYTHING, and there is a cycle, things come full circle in most any respect. Sometimes things have to get worse in order for things to get better, its just a fact. I for one am not going to stand by idle or become a victim because i KNOW people are capable of being good and honest.
