Let me be clear btw: I don't mean stealing computer data can never be larceny, but stealing an eq item can never be larceny. It's an example and a comparison using a real life term and nothing more. I find it interesting that he's been called a thief, but the two of you are not challenging the use of that word to a remotely comparable extent (read: not at all). Perhaps my usage of the word was too fancy for Wrench, but the example still stands both logically and contextually.

I am in no way suggesting that real life legal culpability exists. It was an example to point out that his actions in game directly mirrored a situation that is considered "very wrong" in real life.

Besides, implying that justice = aalpha having his item returned means that there was some crime committed on the part of the person who picked it up. There was no crime, Aalpha made a mistake by dropping his tranix crown and an opportunistic player happened to notice and pick it up. This is not against the rules, and never was on live.

I want to take a moment to be completely fair to you in light of my last post which I submitted a bit too soon.

I can understand how what I wrote might be taken as a suggestion that some sort of real life cause of action existed. Obviously, it does not, and as I posted above I was never suggesting that. I had initially written "in real life that's called..." but the IRL was lost somewhere in editing. I should have left it in to avoid the confusion.

Because any confusion is probably on my shoulder's please note I don't mean to get uppity towards you. I did get snippy at Wrench given that he seemed to have understood what I meant because he pointed out that I was making a comparison whereas it very well may have appeared to to you that I was indeed suggesting a frivolous suit and not a simple comparison suggesting that the OP was a thief.
