If there IS fishy shit going on, I can only see it playing out in two ways.

1) Platlord and the server are part of some kind of money laundering scheme, whether the server staff is aware of it or not
Imagining Tony Soprano & Nilbog meeting at Bada Bing discussing how he can pay off his gambling debts through laundering money through his emulator server.

My nephew Christopher will be on your staff as the main GM to keep an eye on everything

OOOOH!

You know what's weird. Tiggle on his stream admitted TMO still does Naggy for Bladestoppers when people were criticizing them for doing it in chat. Check out the value of a Bladestopper on Platlord's page: it's one of two top value items at ~$500+

Now I'm not accusing, just pointing out a certain synchronicity...

This is becoming a very insightful discussion. Where else does someone get them?

Honestly, I think the server admins should just lift the prohibition on it and run it themselves and put the profiteers out of business. It's too entrenched at this stage, and you guys should make something for all the time and effort spent developing the server.

Think of it as bootlegging alcohol back in the day, this is what's going on, and no amount of bans will ever completely stop it.

This can never happen because SOE would be all over it. If it was ever done it would have to be done secretly. Cue conspiracy theories...

This already happens. You'll see soon.

There are 2 RMT businesses that will remain untouched by this banwave. One is either run by or monitored by Sirken, and the other one is covered up by Ambrotos.

Other Emu servers openly profit, they just solicit "donations" instead of classifying as a direct payment. Hell, one of them has a permanent NPC that acts as the "donation" merchant for grating you bonuses based on said donation, and it's an orange server mind you.
