5-day (average! up to 9, or 12) incubation period where asymptomatic ppl may be transmitting the disease. There is also at least one reported "reinfection", but I don't think that matter is settled. The sense of crisis should have ratcheted up about 7 days ago; too late now. My nose has been drippy my whole life, and I was uncomfortable being seen dabbing it out getting groceries.

Also my gym shut down today, and it's visible from my apartment. The empty parking lot is spooky. Ambulances with their sirens on keep passing it, going back and forth. I haven't yet seen a death rate stat that deserved to be believed. I'm real spooked.

I know that UMC in Las Vegas is swamped with people in their 30s with pneumonaic symptoms. Wishing you all the best and that you each take this seriously. I'm a patriot so I haven't stockpiled, since that impulse is the only threat to supply chain; shame on you if you did.

PS: I know there's a lot of mixed messaging from the medical community, but masks do provide a bit of help. Even the simple paper ones. Like stiff denim vs japanese steel. Take care.

Where u located? The whole country needs to be doing this BEFORE it gets out of hand any more than it already is. 86% of cases are asymptomatic according to the latest studies.

IMO we should be shutting down travel from coastal states.

3 months of heavy quarantine worked in Wuhan, a city that is about our coastal states populations... so that means we can stop it here.

We just need to admit we need to stop it first.

It's amazing we need to argue about whether its real first lol but whatever, western culture is what western culture does.

I personally expected america to respond the way SK did with efficiency and demonstrate our amazing for profit healthcare system etc but nope.

If we all just observed china since November, like we could have because it was wide in the open, we'd have been prepared and we wouldn't have had a stock-market crash, (or if we did it would have come 3 months before the virus came here and we could have addressed it rationally).

We basically are behaving now, like did China in November. Like Iran in December, and Italy in February. If we dont get lucky or shape up this next 2 weeks, we'll need to china again, only this time we'll be imitating china from around January, which was locking people inside their houses, building hospitals and care centers, and burning bodies.

Scary stuff.

Edit: At least we know, that in a city of 11 million if you get 75k infected you can stop the spread and contain the virus (if you consider where china is today the other side of the tunnel, which I do). So we got that much going for us, which is nice.

How do people still take what the Chinese government says at face value?
