I think we passed through a great filter this 2020 and we have many more to go through still, but we made it through one of em.
There is this like thought that the great filter is a single event we have to pass through. But there's no way that's true, we could colonize 100 planets, and one single megalomaniac could fill each one of those atmospheres with toxic something that kills everyone. Like the new Superman movies. Existence is maybe fragile. Idk. We could be "expecting our end" because like a horse stands up and runs after it pops out of its mom because of instinct, it's because we've come to our end 1 million times before on a million different planets, so deep down we know our end is always nigh. Maybe it's natural for us to reach a period of evolution that we're capable of shooting our jizz onto other planets, and then we naturally kill ourselves because long term intelligence always ends in suicide because existence is torture. And it's a cycle that's been going on for billions and billions of years and is as inevitable as skynet, who friggen knows. | ||
