Brian Jonestown Massacre is amazing. Glad to see some folks here interested in drugs and good music.

I have a question. If weed cures everything, why did Bob Marley die of cancer?

Some of the chemicals in marijuana appear to have a strong anti-cancer effect. The thing is, inhaling burning bits of vegetation in to your lungs has a strong cancer-causing effect. Based on a limited number of studies (conducted in Jamaica, 'cause our government hates science) it looks like the two roughly cancel each other out, leaving a pot smoker roughly the same chance as anyone else of contracting cancer (but way less than a tobacco smoker).

Marley just got cancer the same way anyone could, unfortunately.

BTW, am I the only one who finds it amusing that the second and third posts of this 58 page thread are pity replies? Just a bit premature eh Senix and KagaKawaiitob?

Why do you gotta light everything in fire then? You might like the smell of the shit, everyone else would rather smell skunk vomit. Just eat it.

I dunno. On a personal level I always get annoyed when recreational drug users cite medicinal use as as if it excuses something. Its possible to be pro medicinal and anti-pharma while being anti stoner.

most of the studies done into the health benefits of weed look at orally consuming weed or weed extracts. smoking isn't as good for you.

I have a question. How many drug-based therapies actually cure chronic conditions? I mean there's some. Antibiotics, sure. Chemotherapy. I Just think cure might be the wrong word here because those two cures are really just poison that kills something else. Is there a cure for arthritis? No, but there is treatments. Western medicine is largely focused on alleviating symptoms, because we can't stop the real problem. That's why weed is nice, it alleviates symptoms and it's very good at it's job.

Please tell me somebody (or everbody) from BJM plays p99. i would 100% believe it. To be fair there have been what, 190 different members of that band... so by sheer numbers the chances aren't that bad.

OK the fact that they need an entirely separate wiki page just for this is hilarious enough...
