In EQ, mobs will rape you. You can't go barreling into a room full of mobs and do a whirlwind, spam your abilities, and they all die.

Unless you severely outlevel or outgear the content, you will get raped unless you use some strategy, or cooperate with other players. You need to CC, slow, attempt to single pull, etc. Difficult content forces interaction, or at least some level of planning/strategy.

Having to interact with other people to get something done is a lot more fun and fulfilling, in my opinion, than watching my avatar bash some harmless mob into the ground with a billion particle effects and huge numbers. I don't want this game to be Socially-Augmented-Single Player, I want to to be Massively Multiplayer, with a community, reputation, etc etc.
I can log on my mage and run through Crushbone, gather 50 mobs, and nuke them down with 1 aoe. Hopefully what has been shown at this reveal is something similar, would like to see them fight something around their skill level. Game all boils down to community interaction triggers and the interaction with difficult mob encounters. (which have not yet been defined)

I think it's also safe to say with multiclassing (everyone doing everything) you can pretty much forget any sort of class specific thing that others players will rely on you for

No more needing to find a druid or wizard for a port, no more needing to find a necro to summon a corpse, no more needing to find a cleric to rez..

just do it all yourself after you click a few change templates buttons

boo

I love the people crying about multi classing, nothing was more frustrating in classic eq than sitting for two hours looking for a cleric to be able to continue your exp group

Hrm, I posted in the dead thread in RnF.

"There are also no levels or in this game, although your character does still progress"

"Combat will consist of four skills and four weapon moves at a time."

http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/08...ext-explained/

Ok with the first, kinda eh on the second.

What im saying is, they have showed GFX, a couple of classes using 2 abilities, and mainly the focus of unveiling was the Minecraft like world.

All of the things that actually matter (to me) were not shown. Gameplay mechanics and the forced requirement to interact with other players in anything I did. Harsh penalties, and the fear of making bad choices.

The crafting stuff is cool, but I was never really into it.

This, probably the most important features that need to make it into EQN for it to appeal to me. Also, sadly, highly unlikely.

Watch some videos on Battlefield 4, now that's movable, alterable terrain. Trees popping up and exploding, pfft.

... I'm going to play it and like it. I'll play anything that breaks a mold.
