I had to look up austerity. I am woefully worried that we'll continue to decline into a state with an entrenched administrative and bureaucratic class that basically steals and nepotizes all state capital. While legislating away free enterprise through liscencesing and liability models, like nurses needing nursing insurance plus never earning a wage out of the debt they paid for the privilege of wiping poop and data entering stool volumes.

But we are kinda arguably there already.

In all honesty, who should I vote for? Woke loccs voice ways heavily here.

I should, bet a racist nurse got him or malpractice especially sporting that Chad beard.

Probably stole his organs to save an elderly white man with hepatitis.

Yeah the UK suffered under a decade of austerity.

Sure, cutting costs and bloat in government finance is applaudable, but unfortunately all government spending was viewed as a cost, none of it was seen as an investment.

This was a huge mistake as this investment either was excellent cost mitigation (eg broken window theory) , increased the value of the economy (infrastructure improvements that create immediate jobs and facilitate future business) or straight up earned the government money (e.g. primary healthcare where preventative medicine can greatly increase the working life and reduce sick days for tax payers ergo creating much more income for the government AND strengthening the economy AND reducing social costs of unemployment AND reducing healthcare costs by nipping cases in the bud).

I think we're going to be waiting 4 more years before those expectations can even be reallistically addressed.

I was at the VA when covid hit.

My feels feel like everyone got sick. Staff. Patients. There was zero gain in quality of life for anyone. And foreign medical suppliers made xxx $$$ xxx on tests and like gimmicks like chlorine gas sterilizers.

The walls where covered in shit and many people died without an ounce of pain relief.

I don't have high hopes Biden can help in any way, or would personally.

Woe to the BLM guys not even registered except as felons. Let alone middle class people shoehornd into the ACA.

I don't have the heart to go out whitebread style but like I see essentially little hope either way.

A tiny voice in my head says endure four more years of orange man bad and just ignore the kids killing each other over universal basic hotpockets because it will unify the able bodied thru adversity.

I also just want to put faith my friends family 👪 and community and just use 🙏 and ❤ love.

US is divided. Will 4 more years of The Annoying Orange perhaps bring the country to a unifying tipping point?

From my own country I can confirm after 8 years of Conservative Austerity the party changed leadership and then ran on an opposition style campaign of ‘Only the Conservatives can fix this’. People bought it. Obviously they didn’t really fix anything and we got more of the same (until the acoughalypse started).

Perhaps the Republicans need 2 terms of Trump so they can run an ‘Only we can fix the mess we made’ campaign?

That was all before the covid news cycle began to ramp up. It wasn't really this admins fault other than they were still business as usual 2012. It'll be probably 8 years minimum before we see any real shift in policy or actual changes coming to effect. Beyond *omgosh this mess was the other guy!!!111*

Ur reading my mind. Honestly idk. And for all the noise that Stephen Miller and bros, skeletor ladies make it's like nothing is different from 2014...

I don't think "trumpism" can be rebuked or put down.. scary italicize for super duper ironic scare quote effect.

There'll never be a real war or revolution either direction because we'll all be too busy starving or growing potatoes and boiling water.

Well we have our similarities but I think we have some pretty big differences. It is pretty telling that we came to a similar conclusion despite those differences.

The Repubs will present as a cohesive unity this cycle so people vote for strength.

2022-2023 the party will mutiny against Trump so Repub and swing voters can vote for ‘change’ without having to switch to Dem.

Way to go!

You totally right, dwelling on negativity does nothing but multiply that energy. Ultimately it’s our own lives and we gotta take control!

I’m gonna live my best life and grab a curry.
